A can\u00e7\u00e3o seguiu uma carreira intensa no cinema tendo sido cantada por Judy Garland em \u201cLittle Nellie Kelly\u201d (1940), atingindo sucesso planet\u00e1rio na voz de Gene Kelly no filme hom\u00f4nimo de 1952 e usada por Stanley Kubrick em \u201cLaranja Mec\u00e2nica\u201d (1971) durante a cena em que o personagem Alex (Malcolm McDowell) espanca um homem e estupra uma mulher.
